The Main Page

The page is created using an index template, which determines the layout of the elements. It uses a table with proportional cell widths, allowing it to retain it’s appearance at multiple resolutions, and sizes.  A cascading style sheet is used in conjunction with the index template to create the theme. This custom theme, Visual Angst, matches the site style of the same name created for the larger site this will be incorporated into.  The banner, and rating images were created for this site. The left column is constructed using predefined, and custom blocks, providing access to archived entries, interactive linking to other weblogs, links to other web sites, and much more. All external links are opened in a new window.

The Comment Window

Accessed by a dedicated link attached to every entry, this window allows visitors to view existing comments attached to an entry, and add their own comments. Visitor comments can be enabled/disabled for each entry individually via the administrative interface.  The incorporated comment form allows visitors to enable the ability to remember their personal information. When enabled it will auto fill the name, e-mail address, and url fields every time the window is opened. Comments may be previewed before submitting. Once submitted, comments can only be edited, or deleted from the application’s administrative interface, giving complete editorial control to the owner.

The Trackback Window

This window, which is access by using the trackback link attached to each entry, displays the url of remote weblog entries which reference this entry.  The remote weblog must have enabled pinging of this entry for a trackback to be listed.

This provides a simple method for both visitors, and the owner to know when one, or more people have referred to a specific entry as part of their weblog.
